Best Value-Internal Auditing

Introduction
Best Value is about delivering products and/or services to clear standards. In doing so, reviewing the economic, effective and efficient use of valuable resources. It is not about reducing cost, it is a structured approach to bringing about continuous and long-lasting improvement. Auditing, thus challenging, comparing current activities against best practice and effective consultation is key to the above process.

Format
Training will be held in a relaxed, friendly environment, which is conducive to the learning process. Delegates will be actively encouraged to take part in every aspect. The whole period will be highly participative with formal trainer input being complemented by exercises, discussions and regular feedback sessions.

Aim
This workshop programme aims to allow delegates to explore the key principles of Best Value and develop effective auditing skills.

Objectives
On completion of this workshop programme delegates will:
• Understand the importance and benefits of Best Value in today's organisations
• Understand the key principles of same ie. economy, efficiency and effectiveness
• Recognise and apply the four ‘C's' of Best Value
• Be able to carry out key activities of the Best Value approach
• Understand the need for setting and using performance targets
• Be able to plan, carry out and close internal Best Value audits
• Be able to form, manage and develop effective auditing teams
