Mentoring & Coaching
Introduction
Coaching and mentoring are activities going on in most workplaces, both formally and informally. Carried out effectively they can support formal training activities and bring about deep, long lasting development and change.
Format
Training will be delivered in a relaxed, friendly environment conducive to the learning process. Workshops will be highly participative, with formal trainer input being complemented by exercises, discussions and regular feedback sessions, and delegates will be actively encouraged to join in.
Delegates will log the main learning points as the course progresses and will develop appropriate workplace action plans.
Aims
The workshop aims to allow delegates to explore and develop those skills that will be effective when giving support and guidance to others.

• Identify the benefits of both mentoring and coaching
• Understand the difference between mentoring and coaching and know when to apply both processes
• Demonstrate the skills, knowledge and understanding needed by successful mentors and coaches
• Apply personal workplace action plans which will help maintain and evaluate skill acquisition in the future
