As of the October 1st 2006, The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety order) came into force. This is a major change in legislation and fire certificates are no longer issued or valid. This new approach to fire safety law represents the most significant change for over 30 years. The new fire regulations have been introduced to simplify matters and make it more straightforward for people to understand what they should do. The Fire Risk Assessment must be carried out for every workplace regardless of size and type or business. Failure to do so could result in a fine of up to £10,000!
